First day- Initiation to natural perfumery

If you wish to become an independent natural perfumer this course will provide you with the basis you need.
If you only wish to understand and explore the realm of scents and fragrances, in this course you will discover the natural essences of perfumery and how easy it is to make good perfumes with them. A perfume is only so good as its ingredients are.

The first part of the course, the whole morning, is dedicated to discovering smells and their meaning, to the ethics and philosophy of natural perfumery. I shall teach you a 5 points auto didactical system of olfactory education that will enable you to thread the “Way of Perfume”  after the course, by your own means .

The last part of the morning is dedicated to the animal scents, you will discover their story and meaning, see and smell them, and understand what are pheromones and why they belong to perfumery.

The second part of the course takes the afternoon. You will discover the instruments of a perfumer and learn how to use them by practicing: every student will make a bespoke perfume for an other. Each of you will compose a perfume and have one composed for himself.  
If you never did it before, you will be amazed to see how easy it is to make good perfumes. It is no more difficult than cooking.

Second day- Initiation to professional perfumery

The second level of our perfumery course is opened only to those who have gained the basic knowledge by following the initiation course. This course introduces to the professional aspect of perfume making.

This course consists mostly in practising, the whole morning is dedicated to the discovery of 14 new essences, to learning how to smell "listening to the soul", to verbalize smells and to categorize them.

The afternoom is dedicated to exercises of blending, and every student will have to compose 3 perfumes.

We shall understand the criterions and rules for building three types of fragrances. The first one is a bespoke perfume from a written brief.
A professional perfumer does not only compose perfumes for the people to wear, a great part of his work is about ambient fragrances. We shall learn the rules that orchestrate the composition of ambient fragrances.
At the end you will also learn how to compose perfumes for paper supportsand objects, which are also very much requested by the market for stamped material in view of sensorial marketing.

You will also learn the olfactory qualities of the essences that you will use, their individual properties and how they behave in blend with other essences.

When the compositions will have been completed, you will have to give them their name.

At the end of the course all the perfumes will be bottled and everyone will keep the perfumes that he has composed.
